Creative Development Pilbara, Western Australia

The Yijala/Yala Project (2011 -2015) was a long-term, inter-generational cultural arts project based in Roebourne, in the Pilbara region of Western Australia. Big hART is Australia’s highest producing and most critically acclaimed arts and social change company, in May 2011 Evert joined the team for an early creative development, working with the local Ieramugadu People to find innovative ways to tell past, present and future stories and to convey culture and heritage. The development sought to exchange and share skills that enable peoples to walk in both worlds.The creation of legacy project New Roebourne in the community continues the successful collaboration.
