What makes a successful painted portrait is not just a mere likeness but how the artist captures that ‘something’ in the sitter’s character which speaks volumes of their personality. The process towards creating a portrait commission is a collaborative one between artist and patron. Evert ensures the creative process is relaxed, enjoyable and as interactive as the portrait subject wishes.

Portraits can begin with beautiful black and white tonal sketches or small colour oil sketches, progressing into full scale narrative works. As such portrait commissions are priced after individual requirements have been discussed. Fees vary accordingly for specifically requested backgrounds, complex clothing, reduced or enlarged figures, inclusion of additional figures and canvas sizing. Fees also vary depending on location and availability of sitting time. We like to accommodate your vision and resources, so please contact the studio and let’s begin with a conversation.
